The Rich Unified Communications (UC) Labs make up an extensive test facility. This test environment includes a series of preconfigured test topology labs designed to support different testing needs.

Use the quick links to learn about each lab's topology, or follow the links on the right to schedule a lab.

  1. Basic Unified Communications Collaboration Lab (Voice, Video)
  2. Unified Communications Collaboration Lab (Voice, Video IM and Presence)
  3. Cisco Jabber Environment (Voice, Video, IM and Presence)
  4. Extended Cisco Jabber Environment (Voice, Video, IM, Presence and Voicemail)
  5. Interoperability Verification Testing (IVT) Lab
  6. Cisco Virtualization Experience Infrastructure (VXI) Environment
  7. Contact Center Lab
Rich UC Lab features offer:
  • Ability to schedule private time in a preconfigured test lab where resources are not shared
  • Highly secure access options
  • Facility to add Cisco and 3rd party application servers into the test environment
  • Full admin-level access control granted for all servers within the lab, allowing "backup" and "restore" operations to save server and lab configuration settings and support testing steps in phased developments
  • Registration to Cisco Unified Communications Manager
  • Server hosting for on-site dependent applications
  • Use of load and redundancy testing tools
  • Internet connectivity for Cloud based services
  • Hardware VPN for on-site registered Cisco IP phones to place offsite test calls
These labs can be booked through the Sandbox portal.

Learn more about the Sandbox portal and how to schedule time in a Rich UC Lab.

Using the Sandbox portal, users can select a lab with a topology to suit their needs. The selected lab is reserved for a defined period of time, is customized with any required servers, and placed on a private network.

Instructions on how to get access to the private network, using Cisco Anyconnect VPN, are automatically emailed to the user along with the Sandbox portal sign-on credentials.

AvailableTopologies

A topology is a preconfigured test environment with clean installations of Cisco UC servers located on the same Virtual LAN.
Rich UC labs are preconfigured with various topologies. The labs currently available are:
  1. Basic Unified Communications Collaboration Lab (Voice, Video)
  2. Unified Communications Collaboration Lab (Voice, Video IM and Presence)
  3. Cisco Jabber Environment (Voice, Video, IM and Presence)
  4. Extended Cisco Jabber Environment (Voice, Video, IM, Presence and Voicemail)
  5. Interoperability Verification Testing (IVT) Lab
  6. Cisco Virtualization Experience Infrastructure (VXI) Environment
  7. Contact Center Lab
Note: The IVT and Contact Center topologies are too complex to duplicate for individual users. As access is restricted and subject to demand, unavoidable delays may occasionally occur.

More lab topologies are planned and will include:
  • WebEx Meetings Lab
  • WebEx Social Lab
  • UC Load Testing Environment
